Shishir Mehrotra

Shishir Mehrotra is the CEO and Managing Partner of Cota Capital, a venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. Before entering venture capital, he served as the Chief Technology Officer at Netflix from 2019 to 2022, overseeing product engineering for a platform with over 230 million subscribers. His earlier executive experience includes working as the Vice President of Product at YouTube and holding early product roles at Facebook after graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At Cota Capital, Mehrotra manages more than $200 million in assets across over 30 investments, recently launching a $125 million second fund in March 2025 dedicated to artificial intelligence infrastructure. He currently focuses on investing in seed to Series A startups across the AI and climate technology sectors, while also serving on the board of directors for Anthropic.
