Scott Banister is an active angel investor and serial entrepreneur currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He began his career by co-founding Submit It!, where he pioneered the concept of paid search advertising before the company was acquired by LinkExchange in 1998. In 2000, Banister co-founded IronPort Systems, an enterprise email security firm that was later acquired by Cisco Systems in 2007 for $830 million. As a prolific early-stage investor and former PayPal board member, he has backed numerous prominent technology companies, including Uber, Zappos, Facebook, and SpaceX. After attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for computer science, he rapidly transitioned into the private technology sector to build and fund high-growth startups. Today, his primary professional focus remains on providing seed capital and strategic guidance to emerging enterprise and consumer technology ventures.
