Nat Friedman

Nat Friedman is the Head of Product at Meta Superintelligence Labs, where he jointly leads the organization alongside Alexandr Wang to oversee artificial intelligence product development and applied research. Previously, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of GitHub from 2018 to 2023, guiding the developer platform through its $7.5 billion acquisition by Microsoft. During his tenure, he expanded the platform's capabilities by launching tools such as GitHub Copilot and Codespaces, while executing strategic acquisitions of companies including NPM and Semmle. Following his departure from Microsoft as a corporate vice president, he helped found the large language model interface nat.dev in 2023 and established the C2 Investments fund with Daniel Gross to back early stage technology startups. His career centers on advancing open source software, building foundational developer tools, and accelerating commercial applications within the artificial intelligence sector.
