Matt Turk

Matt Turk is the Managing Partner at Long Journey Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. Before transitioning to venture capital, he served as the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Runway, an artificial intelligence video generation platform that achieved unicorn status before being acquired for $1.5 billion in 2023. His earlier technical career includes holding senior engineering leadership roles at Cruise Automation and working as an early software engineer at Palantir. At Long Journey Ventures, Turk currently manages over $50 million in total assets and recently closed a $75 million second fund in March 2026 to back startups developing AI agents. Turk holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley, and his current investment focus centers on artificial intelligence infrastructure, developer tools, and autonomous systems.
