Young Guo is a veteran venture capitalist and General Partner at IDG Capital Partners in Beijing City, China, where he has shaped early-stage technology funding since 1999. Before IDG, he worked in New York at Soros Fund Management from 1996 to 1999, helping manage a three billion dollar private equity fund, following roles at Salomon Brothers. He began his career leading product development at WR Grace and Company, where his scientific research in materials and polymers resulted in five United States patents. Guo earned a doctorate in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an MBA from Columbia Business School, and an applied chemistry degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His current investment strategy focuses on the artificial intelligence and enterprise sectors across various stages, highlighted by notable portfolio additions like Pony AI and Unbabel.
