Yoshua Bengio

Yoshua Bengio is a Full Professor of Computer Science at the Université de Montréal, the Founder and Scientific Advisor of Mila, and the Co-President and Scientific Director of LawZero, based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Recognized globally as a pioneer in deep learning, he received the 2018 A.M. Turing Award and currently ranks as the most-cited living computer scientist worldwide. He holds a Canada CIFAR AI Chair and serves on the United Nations Scientific Advisory Board, advising international bodies on technological governance. His extensive academic contributions have earned him fellowships in the Royal Society of London and Canada, alongside appointments as an Officer of the Order of Canada and a Knight of the Legion of Honor in France. Bengio currently focuses on advancing artificial intelligence research while leading global initiatives dedicated to AI safety and responsible technological development.
