Wences Casares

Wences Casares is the Founder and CEO of Xapo Bank, a global Bitcoin custodian, and is based in Silicon Valley. The Argentinian-born entrepreneur previously founded the online brokerage Patagon, which was acquired by Banco Santander for $750 million in 2000. He also launched Lemon Wallet, a digital wallet platform that LifeLock purchased for $43 million in 2013, and established Banco Lemon, a Brazilian retail bank acquired by Banco do Brasil in 2009. Additionally, Casares founded the video game developer Wanako Games, which was acquired by Activision, and has served on the corporate boards of major financial technology firms including PayPal and Diem. He completed the Owner/President Management program at Harvard Business School and studied at Universidad de San Andrés. His entrepreneurial career remains focused on advancing digital assets, online banking, and cryptocurrency infrastructure across global financial markets.
