Tom Hulme is a General Partner and Head of Europe at GV, where he also co-leads the firm's global technology investing team. Before joining GV, he served as a design director at IDEO, where he founded the OpenIDEO platform and managed the firm's global startup initiatives. As an entrepreneur and angel investor, Hulme has backed more than 30 companies, serving as a founding investor in startups such as GoCardless, Tray.io, and MileIQ, which was later acquired by Microsoft. His academic background includes an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in physics from Bristol University. Recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, he was also awarded an MBE in 2025. Hulme currently focuses his venture investments on early-stage companies operating across the fintech, enterprise software, artificial intelligence, and consumer technology sectors.
