Sunil James

Sunil James is a Venture Partner at Ubiquity Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to transitioning into venture capital, he served as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Scytale, a cloud-native security startup acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2020. Following this acquisition, James operated as a Senior Director of Engineering at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, managing over 30 engineers and integrating his company's cryptographic identity framework into their enterprise portfolio. His operational career spans more than two decades in technical product management and software engineering. During this time, he held key leadership positions at major technology corporations including Amazon Web Services and Mandiant. James currently leverages his extensive enterprise software background to identify, fund, and support technical founders building the next generation of foundational computing infrastructure.
