Subrah Iyar is an Indian-American entrepreneur who pioneered the modern web conferencing industry as co-founder of WebEx and currently serves as an early investor and advisor to Zoom Communications. After earning a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 1982, he spent six years at Apple creating the company's first operating system licensing business. He later served as vice president at Teleos Research before its acquisition by Autodesk, subsequently co-founding WebEx in 1996 and serving as chief executive until Cisco Systems acquired the platform for more than three billion dollars in 2007. Iyar then co-founded and became chief executive of Moxo in 2012, securing funding from Cisco and KDDI to build digital client interaction platforms. Today, he remains an active investor and advisor for emerging technology startups.
