Stephane Bancel

Stephane Bancel is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Moderna and a Venture Partner at Flagship Pioneering, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Prior to his tenure at Moderna, he served as the CEO of the French diagnostics firm bioMérieux from 2007 to 2011, and previously held various leadership roles at Eli Lilly between 2000 and 2006, including Managing Director for Belgium. He holds a Master of Engineering from École Centrale Paris, a Master of Science from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Bancel currently serves on the corporate boards of Generate:Biomedicines and Indigo Ag, and his net worth was estimated at $4.1 billion in May 2023.
