SOPHIE BAKALAR

Sophie Bakalar is a Partner at Collaborative Fund, where she leads the firm's later-stage venture investments across the consumer and technology sectors. She has directed capital into prominent consumer brands and artificial intelligence startups, leading major funding rounds for companies like Daily Harvest and OLIPOP. Additionally, she currently serves as a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard Wyss Institute. Prior to beginning her venture capital career, Bakalar co-founded digit, a machine learning company focused on digitizing chart images that was successfully acquired in 2016. She previously spent ten years as a quantitative trader at a fixed income hedge fund managing over $5 billion, after earning degrees in Mathematics and Public Health from Tufts University. Her professional background combines a decade of quantitative trading experience with active venture capital deployment in the consumer technology and energy markets.
