Sonya Huang is a Partner at Sequoia Capital based in San Francisco, California, where she focuses on growth-stage investments in artificial intelligence and data infrastructure. Before joining the firm in 2018, she worked in private equity at TPG Capital and investment banking at Goldman Sachs, having previously earned an economics degree summa cum laude from Princeton University. In her current capacity, she targets Series B and later funding rounds with check sizes ranging from $10 million to $200 million. She has led or co-led eleven major deals, managing investments in prominent technology companies including OpenAI, Hugging Face, and Glean. Huang also hosts the Training Data podcast and recently delivered a keynote alongside Sam Altman and Jensen Huang at the 2025 AI Ascent conference. Her primary focus remains on identifying and scaling vertical AI applications and enterprise software.
