Sean Rad is the General Partner of Radic Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Los Angeles, California. He is best known as the co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Tinder, where he managed the dating application's growth to over 50 million users before its $1.3 billion acquisition by Match Group in 2017. Prior to Tinder, the University of Southern California attendee founded Adly, a social advertising platform that was later acquired by Viacom. Rad launched Radic Ventures in 2022 with a $50 million fund, executing more than 20 investments including a stake in the billion-dollar artificial intelligence startup Character.ai, and he recently joined the board of public company Blend Labs in 2024. His current investment strategy primarily focuses on seed-stage opportunities across consumer internet, mobile applications, artificial intelligence, and the creator economy.
