Scott Sandell

Scott Sandell is the Executive Chairman and Chief Investment Officer at New Enterprise Associates (NEA), based in Menlo Park, California. Before joining the firm in 1996, he was a product manager at Microsoft and co-founded the European subsidiary of C-ATS Software. During his tenure, Sandell led investments in 24 technology companies that completed public offerings or mergers, holding board positions at Cloudflare and Coursera. He previously served as NEA's CEO and Managing General Partner, helping grow the firm's assets under management to over $28 billion by mid-2025. A graduate of Dartmouth College and Stanford University, he is one of four investors to appear on the Forbes Midas List annually since 2007. His current focus remains on guiding early-stage technology, cybersecurity, and healthcare startups toward long-term public market success across the United States and China.
