Sarah Friar

Sarah Friar is a General Partner at Next Door Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm she launched in 2023, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Previously, she served as Chief Financial Officer at Square from 2012 to 2019, helping lead the company to its 2015 initial public offering and a valuation exceeding $100 billion. Following her tenure at Square, Friar acted as CFO of Nextdoor from 2020 to 2023, guiding the platform through its 2021 IPO after beginning her career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs. She currently holds board director positions at several major corporations, including Walmart, Block, and Anthropic. Leveraging her operational experience and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Friar now focuses on advising and investing in Seed and Series A startups across the fintech and consumer internet sectors.
