SALIL DESHPANDE

Salil Deshpande is the Managing Director of SaaS Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in New York City, New York. Prior to his transition into venture capital, he served as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of multiple enterprise software companies, including Virtusa and FedEx Custom Critical. Under his leadership, Virtusa scaled significantly before its eventual acquisition by Bain Capital, and he now leverages this operational expertise to manage a portfolio of over 50 companies, including Drata. In 2024, Deshpande helped raise more than $100 million for SaaS Ventures' Fund III, building on an academic foundation that includes a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. He currently focuses his practice on seed and early-stage investments across the North American enterprise and vertical SaaS sectors.
