Sahil Lavingia

Sahil Lavingia is a San Francisco-based solo venture capitalist who currently invests his personal capital into early-stage technology startups. Before transitioning to full-time investing, he founded the digital product platform Gumroad in 2011, scaling the business to over $10 million in annual recurring revenue before stepping down as chief executive officer in 2020. His early career included working as one of the first engineers at Pinterest after dropping out of the University of Michigan. As an active angel investor, Lavingia has deployed capital into more than 100 companies, participating in recent deals with software startups like Superhuman. Beyond venture capital, he authored the 2023 book "The Minimalist Investor" and writes a popular newsletter reaching over 500,000 subscribers.
