Ross Darwin

Ross Darwin is a Principal at Portage Capital Solutions based in New York, where he focuses on growth equity and special situations investments in the financial technology sector. Before joining Portage in February 2023, he spent nearly four years as a Principal at Owl Ventures, specializing in education technology investments across the PreK-12 and higher education markets. Earlier in his career, Darwin worked for three and a half years as an Associate at TA Associates, executing deal sourcing and supporting education policy initiatives for California's eight largest school districts. He has also held board member and observer roles at several venture-backed startups, including Preply, Thrive Global, Kiddom, and UBITS. Holding both an MBA and a BA in Economics from Stanford University, Darwin centers his current investment strategy on scaling global fintech and financial services companies.
