Romain Lapeyre is a Partner at Elaia Partners based in Paris, France, where he leads early-stage investments in the deep tech and artificial intelligence sectors. He manages funds with over €400 million in assets under management and has executed more than 20 investments, including involvement with the hardware unicorn Ledger. In July 2024, Lapeyre led a €25 million Series A funding round for an AI infrastructure startup, and he recently expanded his portfolio by joining a climate fund as a limited partner in March 2026. Prior to his venture capital career, he operated as a technology entrepreneur after earning an engineering degree from École Polytechnique and an MBA from HEC Paris. His current investment focus centers on supporting seed and Series A founders building enterprise software, machine learning, and climate technology solutions across the European ecosystem.
