RICHARD CHIN

Richard Chin is a biotechnology executive and the former Chief Executive Officer of Kindred Biosciences, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He founded Kindred Biosciences in 2012 and successfully led the veterinary biopharmaceutical company through its initial public offering and subsequent acquisition by Elanco Animal Health. Previously, Chin served as Head of Clinical Research for the Biotherapeutics Unit at Genentech, where he managed the clinical development of multiple approved therapeutics. His unusually strong academic pedigree spanning medicine and law includes a Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School, a Master of Arts in Law from Oxford University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University. Building upon this interdisciplinary foundation, he has held academic appointments as a faculty member at the University of California San Francisco while continuing to advance innovative biopharmaceutical development and clinical trial methodology.
