Rakesh K. Loonkar

Rakesh K. Loonkar is a cybersecurity entrepreneur and early-stage venture capital investor currently serving as the President and Co-Founder of Transmit Security in the Greater Boston area. Prior to his current role, he co-founded Trusteer, a premier financial fraud prevention company that was acquired by IBM in 2013 for approximately $1 billion. Loonkar has a long-standing partnership with fellow entrepreneur Mickey Boodaei, with whom he has built and scaled multiple enterprise technology firms over the past two decades. His earlier entrepreneurial ventures include co-founding Securent, an entitlement management company acquired by Cisco Systems for $100 million, and OneSecure, an intrusion prevention system provider acquired by NetScreen Technologies. Today, his primary focus remains on funding and advising early-stage technology startups, leveraging his extensive operational background to guide next-generation cybersecurity and enterprise software companies.
