RAINER MÄRKLE

Rainer Märkle is a General Partner at HV Capital, where he focuses on high-potential technology and e-commerce investments. He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, completing his US Masters at Bell Labs, and earned an MBA from INSEAD with highest distinctions. Before joining HV Capital over a decade ago, Märkle worked as an engineer in mobile and fiber communications at Siemens and held venture capital roles at both Siemens and 3i. His investment portfolio includes notable exits such as Zalando, which he backed from seed to IPO, as well as HelloFresh, Quandoo, and Stylight. He has also directed capital into emerging platforms like Scalable Capital, Alasco, and finn.auto. Märkle leverages his dual background in engineering and economics to identify and scale transformative technology companies globally.
