RAINER MAERKLE

Rainer Maerkle is a General Partner at HV Capital based in Munich, Germany, where he manages investments and leads fundraising efforts for the firm's €2.8 billion in assets under management. Before joining HV Capital, he worked as an engineer in mobile and fiber communications at Siemens and held venture capital roles at Siemens and 3i. He holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and an MBA from INSEAD. Throughout his two-decade career, Maerkle has guided numerous technology startups from seed funding to initial public offerings, including notable exits with Zalando and HelloFresh. He currently holds board seats at Scalable Capital, FINN, and Alasco while spearheading the fundraising for HV Capital's Fund IX and Fund X. His current focus remains on identifying high-potential technology and e-commerce ventures across the European market.
