Rafi Syed

Rafi Syed is a General Partner at Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) based in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he focuses on later-stage enterprise software and infrastructure investments. Prior to joining IVP in 2020, he served as a Principal at Redpoint Ventures, dedicating his efforts to sourcing and evaluating early and growth-stage technology startups. Earlier in his career, Syed worked as an Associate at NextWorld Capital and began his professional trajectory in the technology investment banking group at Goldman Sachs, advising corporate clients on strategic mergers, acquisitions, and equity offerings. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley. Drawing on his extensive background in both investment banking and venture capital, Syed currently concentrates on identifying high-growth enterprise companies and providing strategic guidance as they scale their operations toward public market debuts.
