PETER WENDELL

Peter Wendell is the Founder and Managing Director of Sierra Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Mateo, California. Prior to establishing the investment vehicle in 1982, he spent ten consecutive years executing sales and marketing operations at IBM. Under his leadership, the firm has deployed more than $2 billion in capital across nine funds, originating early investments in multibillion-dollar technology enterprises such as the financial software company Intuit. In addition to his primary venture capital career, he currently serves on the corporate board of directors at Merck & Co. and has instructed over 2,000 graduate students at Stanford University. Equipped with an extensive background in corporate management and institutional investing, Wendell maintains a strategic focus on funding emerging growth companies across the enterprise software, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and healthcare sectors.
