Peter Sopher

Peter Sopher is an Investment Partner at Clean Energy Ventures based in Austin, Texas. In this capacity, he oversees the firm's due diligence process, manages a network of more than 100 strategic relationships, and directs limited partner fundraising initiatives. Sopher has driven the diligence for a majority of the fund's portfolio companies and authored specific investment theses covering industrial automation and energy intelligence. Before joining his current firm, he addressed global energy challenges through financial and policy frameworks at the Environmental Defense Fund, the International Energy Agency, and CrossBoundary. He holds an undergraduate degree in economics and completed his dual graduate studies in public administration and business, earning an MBA from the Wharton School. Sopher currently focuses on scaling early-stage climate technology ventures and providing strategic board-level support to a growing portfolio of clean energy startups.
