PAUL KLINGENSTEIN

Paul Klingenstein is the Managing Partner at Aberdare Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. He began his career in the early 1980s focusing on biotechnology and managed care at Warburg Pincus, later earning an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1986. Prior to founding Aberdare in 1999, he managed healthcare investing at Accel Partners and advised the Rockefeller Foundation on global HIV vaccine partnerships. Through Aberdare, Klingenstein has invested in over 50 healthcare companies, with the majority of these entities now public or merged into public corporations. He has held numerous corporate and nonprofit board seats at organizations such as Anacor Pharmaceuticals, Isis Pharmaceuticals, Elation Health, and the MacArthur Foundation. His current investment focus centers on data-driven health technologies, medical devices, and personalized medicine solutions designed to drive clinical efficiencies.
