NICHOLAS MCCORMICK

Nicholas McCormick is the founder and lead developer of Superpowered AI, an artificial intelligence infrastructure startup based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Founded in 2021, the company and its team of four participated in the Y Combinator Summer 2022 batch to build APIs for knowledge retrieval in large language models before recently becoming inactive. Before launching his own venture, McCormick studied engineering at the University of Tennessee and worked as a software developer at a quantitative hedge fund. During his tenure in the financial sector, he was responsible for designing and developing the firm's proprietary algorithmic backtesting system. Outside of his professional software engineering career, he actively competes in regional mountain biking and endurance running races. His technical background centers on machine learning infrastructure and retrieval augmented generation systems for modern artificial intelligence applications.
