Neeraj Arora

Neeraj Arora is the CEO of India and MENA and a Managing Director at General Catalyst, based in San Francisco, USA. Before joining the firm, he founded the early-stage investment fund Venture Highway, which backed prominent technology startups including Meesho, Sharechat, and Moglix. Previously, Arora served as the Global Head of Business at WhatsApp, where he orchestrated the messaging platform's $19 billion acquisition by Facebook in 2014. His earlier corporate career includes tenure as a Principal of Corporate Development at Google, where he managed strategic technology acquisitions. He also holds a mechanical engineering degree from IIT Delhi and an MBA from the Indian School of Business, while serving on the board of the UCSF Foundation. Today, his primary focus remains on directing early-stage capital into emerging consumer and fintech enterprises across the Indian and MENA regions.
