Mike Abbott

Mike Abbott is a General Partner at Threshold Ventures based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Before transitioning to venture capital in 2019, he held executive positions across the technology sector, including Chief Operating Officer at Twitter from 2015 to 2016 and Senior Vice President of Engineering at Microsoft from 2013 to 2015. His earlier career featured leadership roles at Genentech and Sears Holdings, where he was Chief Technology Officer, building on his doctorate in molecular biology from the University of Washington. As an investor, Abbott has guided several enterprise software companies to liquidity events, holding board seats at Amplitude during its 2021 initial public offering and Looker prior to its 2019 acquisition by Google. He currently focuses on growth-stage investments and operational scaling within the artificial intelligence, machine learning, and enterprise cybersecurity sectors.
