Michael Seibel is a Partner Emeritus at Y Combinator based in San Francisco, California. He co-founded Justin.tv in 2007, which evolved into Twitch alongside Emmett Shear before Amazon acquired the platform for $970 million in 2014. In 2011, Seibel co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Socialcam, leading the application to a $60 million acquisition by Autodesk the following year. Before entering the technology sector, he worked as a finance director for a United States Senate campaign and earned a political science degree from Yale University in 2005. As a partner at Y Combinator, he advised hundreds of early-stage startups through the accelerator's batches and hosted online educational sessions for Startup School. His current focus remains on mentoring technology entrepreneurs, participating in startup selection, and advising founders on scaling their operations.
