Michael Kearney is a General Partner at Engine Ventures, where he focuses on accelerating climate change mitigation technologies. Prior to his current role, he led market and business development at Ambri, an early-stage grid-scale energy storage startup, and served as the Executive Director of the MIT Roosevelt Project, an interdisciplinary initiative analyzing energy transition pathways. Kearney currently serves on the board of directors for more than nine portfolio companies, including Addis Energy, AtmosZero, and Blue Energy, while acting as a board observer for Copernic Catalysts and Terragia. He holds a bachelor's degree from Williams College and earned both a master's degree and a doctorate in systems engineering and economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His professional focus remains centered on energy innovation economics, entrepreneurial strategy, and the commercialization of breakthrough clean energy technologies.
