Matt Mazzeo is an independent venture capitalist and fund manager currently launching a new investment vehicle focused on early-stage artificial intelligence startups. He previously served as a General Partner at Coatue Management from 2018 to 2023, where he was responsible for launching the firm's dedicated venture fund. Before joining Coatue, Mazzeo worked as a Managing Director at Lowercase Capital, managing a diverse portfolio of more than 40 seed and Series A investments. His career began as an Agent at Creative Artists Agency, where he founded the digital media group and incubated early consumer technology companies. Throughout his venture career, he has partnered with founders at prominent technology companies including Stripe and Replit. His current investment strategy centers on backing technical founders who are building consumer and enterprise applications that integrate artificial intelligence into everyday tools.
