Matt Brezina is a San Francisco-based General Partner and solo capitalist who invests in early-stage technology startups across diverse global markets. Before transitioning to full-time investing, he founded and sold two technology companies, including the communications software startup Xobni, which was successfully acquired by Yahoo. Since 2008, he has backed more than 80 companies across sectors like fintech and climate tech, writing checks ranging from $100,000 to $500,000 for notable startups such as Dropbox and Ring. Brezina previously served as an early scout for the venture firm Spark Capital, and he holds an engineering degree from the Penn State Schreyer Honors College. His current focus centers on providing hands-on operational support for pre-seed through Series A portfolio companies, assisting founders with fundraising and complex M&A transactions, while also advocating for safe urban infrastructure initiatives.
