Marc Lasry is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Avenue Capital Group, a global investment firm based in New York City. He established the firm in 1995 alongside his sister Sonia Gardner, successfully growing the hedge fund to manage over $10 billion in assets under management in the current market. Before launching Avenue Capital, Lasry held specialized distressed debt roles at Cowen and Company and First Boston, and he earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
