KEVIN SYSTROM

Kevin Systrom is an independent entrepreneur, the co-founder of Artifact, and a board member at Snowflake and Walmart, based in San Francisco, California. He is best known as the co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Instagram, which he launched in 2010 and scaled to over one billion monthly active users. Under his leadership, the photo-sharing application was acquired by Facebook for $1 billion in 2012, and he managed the platform until his departure in 2018. In 2023, Systrom co-founded the artificial intelligence news platform Artifact, which raised $72 million before its technology was acquired by Yahoo in 2024. Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, he worked in product marketing at Google and earned a degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University. His career focuses on developing consumer technology, mobile applications, and artificial intelligence.
