Kevin Hartz is the Co-founder and Managing Partner at A* Capital and Chairman of Eventbrite, based in San Francisco, California. He previously served as the CEO of Eventbrite from 2006 to 2016, guiding the ticketing platform to a 2018 initial public offering that initially valued the business at $2.6 billion. Prior to Eventbrite, he co-founded the international money transfer company Xoom, which went public before being acquired by PayPal for $890 million in 2015. As a former Partner at Founders Fund and an active early-stage investor, his portfolio includes foundational stakes in major consumer internet and fintech enterprises such as Airbnb, Pinterest, and Uber. Additionally, he sponsored the SPAC one, which successfully merged with Markforged in 2021. The Stanford University alumnus currently focuses on early-stage venture capital investments across the software, marketplace, and financial technology sectors.
