Justin Kan is a General Partner at the venture capital firm Goat Capital based in San Francisco, California. He is best known as the co-founder of the live-streaming platform Twitch, which operated independently for several years before Amazon acquired the company for $970 million in 2014. Prior to launching his current fund in 2020, he served as a Partner at the startup accelerator Y Combinator and was the CEO of the legal technology startup Atrium, which raised over $65 million before ceasing operations. The Yale University graduate has also founded multiple other technology companies, including Justin.tv and Fractal, while building a personal angel investment portfolio of more than 200 early-stage startups such as Reddit, Cruise, and Rippling. Kan currently focuses on leading seed-stage venture capital investments across the consumer technology, gaming, and web3 sectors.
