Josh Santos

Josh Santos is the Co-founder and Chief Carbon Removal Officer of Noya, a direct air capture startup based in West Oakland, California. Before launching the climate tech company in 2020, he earned a chemical-biological engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and worked as an Engineering Project Manager manufacturing electric vehicles at Tesla. Santos guided Noya through the Y Combinator Winter 2021 batch and subsequently helped secure an $11 million Series A funding round led by Union Square Ventures in May 2023. The firm has already sold millions of dollars in carbon removal credits to major corporate buyers and is developing its first commercial facility designed to capture 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually by 2027. His current professional focus centers on scaling standalone direct air capture infrastructure to commercialize and deploy industrial carbon removal solutions.
