Jake Heller is the co-founder and CEO of Casetext, a legal technology company acquired by Thomson Reuters, and is based in San Francisco, California. He established the business in 2013, guiding it through the Y Combinator accelerator program before scaling operations to serve thousands of law firms. Under his leadership, the startup utilized OpenAI technology to launch the GPT-4 powered legal assistant CoCounsel in March 2023, culminating in a $650 million all-cash acquisition later that year. Prior to his entrepreneurial career, he worked as a litigation associate at Ropes & Gray and served as a law clerk for the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
