Ivan Zhao

Ivan Zhao is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Notion Labs, Inc., based in San Francisco, California. Before establishing the productivity software platform in 2013 alongside co-founder Simon Last, he earned a bachelor's degree in cognitive science from the University of British Columbia and worked in product design at the educational technology startup Inkling. Under his leadership, the software company has grown to serve over 100 million active users globally and reached a $10 billion valuation following a 2021 secondary funding round backed by institutional investors like Sequoia Capital. Zhao recently expanded the company's multi-product ecosystem through strategic acquisitions, including the calendar application Cron in 2022 and the privacy-focused productivity platform Skiff in early 2024. His current focus centers on scaling enterprise SaaS adoption by integrating generative artificial intelligence features directly into collaborative, no-code workspaces.
