Immad Akhund

Immad Akhund is the Co-founder and CEO of Mercury, a financial technology platform serving startups, based in San Francisco, California. Under his leadership, the company has scaled to serve over 100,000 customers, processes more than $100 billion in annualized payments, and reached a $1.62 billion valuation following a $120 million Series B funding round in 2021. Before launching Mercury, he served as a Part-Time Partner at Y Combinator and co-founded two YC-backed startups, including the mobile advertising platform Heyzap, which was acquired by RNTS Media for $45 million. Akhund holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and operates as an active angel investor with a portfolio of over 100 early-stage technology companies. His current focus centers on building scalable business-to-business software and providing specialized banking infrastructure for founders.
