Greg Brockman

Greg Brockman is the President and Co-Founder of OpenAI, based in San Francisco, California. Before co-founding the artificial intelligence research laboratory, he served as the Chief Technology Officer at Stripe from 2010 to 2018, where he successfully scaled the core engineering team from five to over 250 employees. He previously studied mathematics and computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before dropping out to build the financial technology platform. At OpenAI, Brockman works alongside CEO Sam Altman and key corporate investor Microsoft to oversee product and engineering for models like ChatGPT, which reached over 500 million weekly active users and helped drive the company to a $157 billion valuation in late 2024. His current professional focus centers on advancing large language models, scaling complex machine learning infrastructure, and implementing rigorous artificial intelligence safety frameworks.
