DANIEL FARINA

Daniel Farina is a Co-Founder of Ubicloud, an open-source cloud infrastructure platform based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Prior to establishing the company in 2023, he specialized in developing managed PostgreSQL services and database control planes as an early software engineer at Heroku and Crunchy Data. Farina also engineered core cloud services at Citus Data, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2019, leading to his subsequent work on Microsoft Azure infrastructure. At Ubicloud, he recently helped secure a $16 million seed funding round in January 2024 and participated in the Y Combinator W24 cohort. He is currently scaling the 15-person startup to provide bare-metal server provisioning and core cloud services across multiple global hardware providers. His career focuses on architecting distributed databases and building alternative open-source cloud control planes for modern enterprise infrastructure.
