Charlie Cheever

Charlie Cheever is the cofounder of Expo, an open source mobile development platform, and is based in San Francisco, California. He holds a Computer Science degree from Harvard University and began his career as a software engineer at Amazon before joining Facebook in 2006. During his tenure at Facebook, he managed the creation of Facebook Connect and the Facebook Platform before leaving in 2009 to cofound Quora. Under his leadership, Quora scaled to serve over 300 million monthly active users before he transitioned to launch Expo, which participated in the Y Combinator Summer 2016 batch. Expo now powers more than 50 percent of new React Native applications and recently secured a $46 million Series C funding round led by Insight Partners. His career focuses on building scalable consumer internet platforms and advancing mobile application developer tools.
