Austen Allred is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of BloomTech, an education technology company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Under his leadership, the Y Combinator-backed startup formerly known as Lambda School has trained over 30,000 students and secured over $120 million in venture funding. Before establishing BloomTech, he co-founded the crowdsourced news platform Grasswire and co-authored a growth marketing guide after attending Brigham Young University. Allred recently guided the organization through a 2021 corporate rebranding and a 2023 transition from income-share agreements to a pay-after-employment tuition model. In early 2025, the company expanded its curriculum by launching artificial intelligence training programs that enrolled an initial cohort of 5,000 students. His current focus remains on scaling alternative workforce development models and expanding accessible software engineering and data science education globally.
